MUFFLER SHOOTOUT - WHAT STYLE MUFFLER FOR THAT OLD SCHOOL HOT ROD SOUND

When building this car I wanted a sound that was classic and tough, but also a sound I could live with. This is a comparison of different style mufflers, (mostly Dynomax, but muffler construction is very similar across manufacturers when choosing a muffler type) that were going to give me a classic, nostalgic sound. No chambered Flowmaster style mufflers here, that 90s modern era sound wasnt it, and glasspacks, though in this mix, sound like shit to me. BUT, trying to find a video of glasspacks on a decent engine and not a stock POS Silverado on YT isnt easy, so here you go. You be the judge. 355ci small block Lunati 30120917 cam (106 LSA, you want chop? know your overlap) 10.5 compression Edelbrock Performer heads Tunnel Ram with 650 Holleys Fenderwell headers and custom 3" exhaust (3" though isnt necessary gives you that depth and that pop, when you cant run 13:1 compression) Pipes to turndowns WAY before the axle. Im not looking for comfort. NOTE- I think the mics I used couldnt handle the louder mufflers properly so theres some variance there, they are louder than they seem in this video. Hey, its low budget.
