Gandhi ji was travelling on first class ticket from Durban to Pretoria when he was forcefully asked to leave his seat and sit in third class compartment which Gandhi ji resisted. And in return he was thrown out at this railway station. Mahatma Gandhi was thrown off a train at the Pietermaritzburg railway station in South Africa in 1893, after a white man objected to him travelling in the first class coach. Gandhi spent nearly 21 years in South Africa practicing law, and adopting Satyagraha against the racist regime. Gandhi returned to India in 1915, and led the nation's freedom struggle. This is historical place, this incident happened century ago and thats where Satyagraha was born. Gandhi ji has written this incident in his autobiography called as My experience with truth.
