Glassblowing - Low Bowl Technique - Hot Shop ASMR

Freehand Glass blowing. Making one of the hardest shapes—a shallow bowl. This is a 2-gather bowl with a crackled surface decoration. Making this shape uses of the Parchoffis, or wooden Jacks. The blades are soaked in water and charred so that they softly shape the profile of the bowl. This bowl was made solo, but typically these shapes are done with an assistant holding a wooden paddle on the rim or the base to keep everything straight. Working solo definitely increased the difficulty of an already hard shape; I don't necessarily recommend this method other than for practice (which is what this was for me). This is the non-talking, ASMR version.
