This Pickup Costs More Than The Guitar!

The Gretsch Streamliner Jet Club 1 Pickup emerged late last year as one of the best electric guitars under $200 that I've maybe ever played. I loved the feel and playability of this Gretsch Jet right out of the box, but it got me thinking of mods and pickup swaps. So I decided to swap in a pickup that is worth as much as the guitar itself. Check out this video for my process of choosing, installing and evaluating the new pickup, as well as sound samples! I chose the Lollar Lollartron pickup for a few reasons. First, it captures that "great Gretsch sound" with its sparkly top end and unique mid-range response. I wanted more clarity and articulating in both clean and overdriven settings, and the Lollar Filtertron style pickup delivers that. Check it out for yourself and hit the CHAPTERS for sound sample time stamps. Original Gretsch Streamliner Jet Club 1 Pickup Demo:    • The $189 Gretsch Streamliner Jet Club 1 Pi...   . . .
