Minister Ersoy's statement on Haydarpaşa Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that the Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci stations, two iconic structures in Istanbul, were restored and re-purposed using scientific methods as part of a protocol signed between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the State Railways in 2024. Ersoy said, "Our historical assets are being protected through scientific tests and analyses." Noting that the historic stations will be protected not only structurally but also in terms of their industrial heritage, Ersoy said, "Above all, this project aims to carry these two historical structures into the future with a holistic approach to preservation while railway transportation continues. We are bringing these magnificent cultural assets, entrusted to us, back to life through museum, library, and art activities."
