Gaden Shartse Ngari Khangsten Prayer Hall Initiation

Gaden Shartse Ngari Khangtsen (www.gadenngari.org) is one of the 11 dormitories (Khang = "HOUSE" Tsen = "Different" in the historic Gaden Shartse Monastery in exile. Originally founded in Tibet the early 1400's Gaden Ngari was destroyed, along with 6000 monasteries in1959. Only one original member of the the khangtsen survived the incursion of Tibet Geshe Sherap who then worked to re-established the khangtesn in exile in southern India in the early 1970's. In 2010, as a result of a two year cultural tour in the U.S., Gaden Ngari Khangtsen finally fulfilled the long wished for dream of their sole surviving member and re-established the khangtsen's main prayer hall in exile. This video made by the monks, document the inauguration of that event. Sadly, Geshe Sherap passed away prior to the fulfillment of this long wish for dream fulfilled.
