This is the world-famous Ex-John Corbani Ferrari Dino 246 GT. John owned the car for 33 years and documented incredible details of his ownership and modifications regularly on Ferrari Chat. His detailed comments have been preserved for all to see and read. After his death, the car was purchased by our friend and fellow Dino fan, Ralf Bsdenga who has enjoyed it for the past 14 years but recently decided to retire and felt the car deserved to be returned to the States where it became so famous under the ownership of John Corbani. This Dino is now available for direct purchase from our San Diego Showroom. The esteemed Historian, Matthias Bartz of Dino Compendium fame records the following details for this Dino: Ferrari Dino 246 GT, chassis number 04504 - US Model Production date: 15th of January 1973 Delivered to: Modern Classic Motors (USA) Original Color: Bianco Polo Park (20-W-152) (Bright White) Original Interior: NERO VM8500 (Leather black) Engine No: 135 CS 000 0010546 (Confirmed) Gearbox No: 1676E (Confirmed) Body No: 1622 (Confirmed) Warranty No: 2744/D Options: -Air Conditioning -Power Windows -Leather Interior Ownership: -1972 Modern Classic Motors (Reno, NV) -1986 until 2009 John Corbani (Santa Barbara, CA) -2009 The Car Experience (Los Angeles, CA) -2009 Ralf Bsdenga (Langenfeld / Bocholt, Germany) Registration: -“CORBANI” California -“ME-OO 246H” Germany -"BOR-O 246H” Germany Supplemental details: Ferrari lists the completion date for this Dino on the car’s door jamb plate as September of 1972 but due to a variety of issued at the Factory, strikes and ongoing labor and parts issues, the actual completion date as noted by Matthias Bartz is January of 1973. The 1972 date attributed to to the original ordering dealer, Modena Classic Motors is reflective of the ordering date, not the date the car was actually shipped to them. Ferrari historian, Stan Novak records this Ferrari was observed / noted as being with Modena Classic Motors in April of 1973 but he does not denote if it had already been sold or was still in inventory. He records the first private owner being from Palo Alto, Californi the following January with no other entires thereafter. The State of California records it was first sold new in 1973. John Corbani, the car’s long term owner stated he found the car in his home town of Santa Barbara, California in 1986. The car was at a local used car lot and at that time, it was still painted white with a black interior. At the time of his purchase, the car had covered just over 40,000 miles and it was sold to him and recorded by the State of California as “True Actual Miles.” The car came with a set of four “famous” Gotti” modular rims and they remained on the vehicle during his entire ownership. He reported on several occasions that the selling dealer bought it from the original owner in the “Bay Area” and that it had previously been raced by the owner who had the larger “Gotti” rims installed. During his ownership of the car, Corbani had the car completely stripped to bare metal and repainted in the very popular Porsche color “Midnight Blue Metallic” which it retains to this day. John Corbani drove this Dino as regular as he was able to, eventually covering more than 160,000 miles with it. Total current mileage for new is now 214,191 miles. Please let me know if I can assist further in anyway with inspections, test drives and anything else you might need. Kind regards and best of luck, Bill Noon Symbolic International At Veloce Motors Vault 9340 Dowdy Drive Suite 102 San Diego, California 92126 USA Phone 619 840 7811 Email [email protected] Website www.symbolicinternational.com
