Mark's Crazy Tiki Garden Update – Early Summer 2026 Walkthrough

It's time for another return to Mark Goodlad’s tropical style Tiki garden in North Lincolnshire in early June 2026 for an exotic plant collection tour, garden projects update and a look at all the fast growing, exciting plants in the tropical style borders! Like myself and many of us, Mark’s time in the garden has been limited this year so it’s interesting to see which reliable, easy and tough plants which have really grown well to create a low maintenance tropical effect this year without relying on lots of bedding plants. A lot of Mark’s bold border plants have grown a bit too well and the garden is really filling out! There’s also time for a jungle garden tour, Colocasia & banana plant post-winter update, tropical greenhouse walk around and a chat about the giant pond / exotic woodland / zip line quarry project along with the usual ‘comedy’ and plant banter (we were both tired out but that’s no excuse!). I hope you enjoy this chilled catch-up and I can only apologise for the jokes… Mark's Crazy Tiki Garden - binge previous episodes of the tropical garden transformation here (and enjoy the same bad jokes repeatedly):    • Mark's Crazy Tiki Garden - Plant Banter & ...   Mark Goodlad UK Tropical Greenhouse Instagram:   / uktropicalgreenhouse   0:00 Intro 1:29 Exotic garden tour - Cycads, arid plants, Agave & desert plant border update 6:18 Easy & colourful tropical style hanging baskets, Japanese themed garden & path width advice… 8:12 Tropical effect borders, hardy palms & easy, reliable plants for exotic effect in UK gardens 17:18 Tropical Bali garden, invasive Miscanthus grass & Mark's favourite exotic trees 29:47 UK Jungle garden tour, hardy Schefflera collection & potted succulent display 39:38 UK Tropical greenhouse planting - houseplants, Bromeliads, orchids & shade cloth 44:24 Quarry garden project update - fingers crossed and zip line plans!
