Gluttony Interview: Eulogy To Blasphemy, Horror, Riffs & Swedish Death Metal

G’day legends, Jai That Aussie Metal Guy here for Crannk, and in this interview I’m joined by Anders from Swedish death metal band Gluttony. Gluttony released their fourth full-length album, Eulogy to Blasphemy, through F.D.A. Records on March 13, 2026, and it is an absolute slab of old-school Swedish death metal violence. We dive into the album, the riffs, the HM-2 chainsaw tone, the horror-soaked atmosphere and how the band kept things raw, direct and full of that rotten death metal energy. Before getting into the new album, Anders takes us right back to his earliest musical memories, discovering KISS, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Twisted Sister on a worn-out mixtape, then finding heavier sounds through Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Dismember and Mayhem. We also talk about growing up around the Swedish death metal scene, learning guitar through Metallica tabs, and how those early influences shaped him as a riff writer. We also dig into the journey from My Own Grave into Gluttony, the idea of stripping things back into what Anders jokingly calls “AC/DC death metal”, the importance of writing songs that work live, Magnus’ role as vocalist, the one-guitar lineup, why Gluttony avoid solos, and how Eulogy to Blasphemy gave the band more freedom to pull from a wider death metal palette. If you love Swedish death metal, HM-2 riffs, horror-drenched extreme metal and bands like Entombed, Dismember, Grave, Carcass, Death and Bolt Thrower, crank this one loud. Gluttony’s Eulogy to Blasphemy is out now through F.D.A. Records. #gluttony #EulogyToBlasphemy #deathmetal #swedishdeathmetal #oldschooldeathmetal #hm2 #HM2DeathMetal #metalinterview #Crannk #jaithataussiemetalguy #FDARecords #extrememetal #undergroundmetal #horrormetal #MyOwnGrave
