Jatyr Berasaluce is a prominent Basque surfer and coach originally from Sopelana. He has competed in numerous World Surf League Men's Qualifying Series (QS) events since 2008. In addition to his competitive career, he has also distinguished himself as a coach, training some of the best Basque surfers, such as Leticia Canales and Ariane Ochoa. During lockdown, Jatyr adapted his training methods, using things like the sofa to simulate waves and keep his students active and engaged (World Surf League).
