During operation totalise, the Worthington force of the 4th Canadian Armoured brigade broke through the German defences south of Caen. Mistaking one rare straight road for another led them to the wrong objective. In spite of contacts with various allied forces during the day, HQ never new where they were. A great opportunity was lost.
