Review: Zelenka's Jolly Penitents at the Sepulcher of the Redeemer

It really is unbelievable that Zelenka's allegorical biblical oratorio I Penitenti al Sepulcro del Redentore should be so much fun, but then everything he wrote overflowed with quirky originality and musical fantasy. In other words, this isn't just your ordinary Catholic penitential oratorio. Trust me. There's only one recording, on Supraphon, and happily it's terrific. Have a listen and be amazed.
