This video explains recommended remote control settings for the new 40-series Alphard and new Vellfire. This setting has been around since the 30-series Alphard, so many people may already be familiar with it. ■ Tip 1: Double-click power tailgate open/close If you keep the remote key in your pocket, you may accidentally press the button, resulting in a malfunction. In particular, the tailgate opens wide, which can cause the door to hit and damage any obstacles behind the car. It's possible to prevent the power tailgate from opening with a long press, so if you're worried or have had a similar experience, ask for this setting. I personally recommend setting it to open/close with a double-click instead of a long press. ■ Tip 2: Long-press power windows fully open/close Being able to open and close windows from a distance is convenient, especially when you want to ventilate the interior before getting in or forget to close the windows. This feature is turned off by default, so you can't use it unless you have it set up at a dealership. The settings are divided into open and close, so be sure to request both settings be changed. I forgot to have the settings changed before delivery, so I had it done during my one-month inspection. Settings can be changed free of charge at the dealer. If you ask before delivery or during an inspection, you can have the settings changed without waiting, so please ask. From now on, I will also be installing a front and rear recording dash cam myself. I will focus on making videos that are easy to understand and try not to cut out even the small details.
