That’s right: the sound of two Ducati superbikes. To celebrate 1,000 subscribers and the 30th anniversary of the 916 at World Ducati Week 2024, I have brought together my Ducati 916 SPS and my Ducati 999 for a rev challenge: Which one sounds better – the desmoquattro or the testastretta? It’s for you to decide… The rules are simple: first some gentle revving, then some warming up, then less gentle revving, and an exercise in multitasking at the end. In terms of engine layout, displacement and power, this should be a close call. But I have to warn you: One of the contestants is cheating with carbon Termignonis. So, which sound do you like better?
