Oxide Preview Silo - Getting Started

In this video, we walk through how to get started with your Oxide preview silo: requesting access, logging into the web console, uploading (or generating) an SSH key, creating a project, and launching a Debian instance with your SSH key injected. We show how to attach an ephemeral public IP, find instance details (including external and private IPs), and use the serial console, then connect via SSH to install and verify NGINX. When HTTP access to the instance fails, we demonstrate how to add a VPC firewall rule to allow inbound TCP port 80 to the instance so the web server is reachable. Finally, we clean up by stopping and deleting the instance, deleting its disk separately, removing the firewall rule, and point you to our docs for using Oxide via the web console, API, and CLI. 00:00 Preview Silo Overview 00:25 Access and Login 00:42 Upload SSH Keys 01:50 Create Project and VPC 02:30 Launch an Instance 04:19 Connect via SSH 05:13 Install Nginx Demo 05:46 Open Firewall Port 80 07:13 Cleanup Resources 08:07 Docs and Next Steps
