Episode 10 - Weighing the Earth
In this video I head up to Scotland to walk up a mountain called Schiehallion. This mountain was used in an experiment in 1774 to weigh the earth and in doing so also used contour lines for the first time on a land based map. How they did it was an amazing piece of early science and the first real proof to Newton inverse square law of gravity.
