However, the river pools were open, so we started the day with a session in the hot springs in a very natural setting, practically immersed in the Miño River. Not bad at all... 02:04 Ourense And since Patry was feeling better, we went to visit the Ourense hot springs and take a stroll through its medieval market, which we couldn't visit the day before. After visiting the market and the Ourense hot springs, we headed to Quiroga, traveling up the Miño River. 05:24 Quiroga Quiroga is a small town that surprised us with its large number of murals, which are also very large and striking. We were also pleased to find a motorhome area here, which offered some very useful services. The town itself can be explored very quickly, allowing us to discover it with a pleasant stroll through its streets. It was a shame to find the museum closed, as it could have been a great addition to the visit, and at €1 admission, it was certainly worth it. 7:34 O Barco de Valdeorras Before climbing to the top of Fonte da Cova, we made our last stop to visit O Barco de Valdeorras and, while we were there, sample another of Galicia's wine appellations of origin. In O Barco, we found a much livelier atmosphere, with people in the streets and a general buzz of activity. We first visited the Malecón along the Miño River, which was lined with terraces, all bustling with people. This walk is highly recommended and leads us to the old town of O Barco, which is really just a few streets and a square, but all very beautiful and well-maintained. Back in the van, we succumbed to the allure of those terraces along the waterfront and enjoyed a glass of Valdeorras wine, which, by the way, was excellent. 10:17 Alto Fonte da Cova And now, finally, we set off for the summit of Fonte da Cova, where we would spend the night at almost 1800 meters above sea level, between the provinces of Ourense and León. It was a shame that fog rolled in as we arrived, preventing us from enjoying the sunset, although we had been catching glimpses of it throughout the climb from Barco de Valdeorras, passing through the slate quarries.
