Where History Meets Adventure | Whangamomona

A few mates and I were lucky enough to be invited to explore the incredible back-country through private farmlands surrounding Whangamomona, New Zealand. From epic hill country views and forgotten history to cave systems, old bridges, river crossings, and rough farm tracks — this trip felt like stepping back in time. Over the entire trip we dealt with vehicle breakages, injuries, camping missions, muddy tracks, and plenty of laughs along the way. We explored remote parts of the region few people ever get to see before finishing the adventure the proper Whangamomona way — with a cold beer at the iconic Whangamomona Hotel. This place honestly feels prehistoric when you’re wheeling through it.
