In 2019, we began dating and living together all at once in a beautiful foreign country. Neeko had been living abroad in multiple countries since graduating from college and was ready to choose his next temporary home. I had been working and living in Florida and decided that I wanted to be out exploring the world too. So, I sold my car and stored my possessions, packed my life into a suitcase (or two), and met Neeko across the globe. We lived in Vietnam for one year and taught English both in local high schools and online. During our time in Vietnam, we lived in two very different cities – Hanoi and Hoi An, spending about half our time in each city. We were fortunate enough to be able to travel and experience most of the country. We left satisfied, knowing that no matter how long since our time there, Vietnam would always be a home to us. Before leaving Vietnam, we had decided that Suzhou, China was going to be our next home for another year or two. However, after returning home to the States for a visit to see family and friends, the news began broadcasting on a new virus spreading all over China. First came the scare, then the travel bans, then the novel virus had spread across the globe, and in a blink of an eye, our 2-year travel plans had fallen through. You know what they say: When life gives you lemons, like a coronavirus, that forces you to cancel your plans, you make lemonade and move to your favorite city and start a new life. What do you do when your environment changes the rules? You adapt. Thus, Neeko and I had to make a new plan, create a new life, and start from scratch. Just this time, it would be in our own country. Now we're building a life in the USA, with friends and family by our sides, providing support in more ways than we had ever imagined. And now, we would like to share with you all our experiences traveling, living abroad, moving back home, and working towards a nomadic life again. Maybe this time, on wheels…
