EP15 - Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival
Thank you for watching, and please consider supporting Argonaut II by becoming a Patreon or contributing via the links below. This episode walks through my experience at the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival, hosted by the Northwest Maritime Center as one of the largest concentration of wooden boats in North America. Each year the week following the Victoria Classic Boat Festival (Labor Day Weekend), hundreds of boats and tens of thousands of wooden boat enthusiasts come together to enjoy the incredible beauty, craftsmanship, and history of these boats. The festival hosts classes, lectures, workshops, vendors, live music, and the whole town is alive with the event. In this episode, we take a tour of the Motor Yacht Blue Peter, attend the Race to Alaska "Blazer" Reunion Party, get out for a sail with my friends on Tally Ho, and participate in my first-ever rowing race on my classic 17' lapstrake Whitehall rowing dinghy. I am working hard to put these videos together in an effort to document the history of Argonaut II, showcase the beauty of cruising the Pacific Northwest, and to raise money towards some restoration projects that the boat needs as I try my best to be a good steward of what I believe to be one of the most special boats in the PNW.
