The eSymposium on AI Trust in Healthcare brought together experts from healthcare, AI development, academia, governance, policy, and industry to explore how trust in AI can be designed and operationalised in real-world healthcare settings. Hosted under the Yathiqu Project by the University of Wollongong in Dubai, in collaboration with the ENAI Working Group Centre for Academic Integrity in the UAE, European Network for Academic Integrity, and PRIME Health UAE, the symposium focused on the theme: Designing and Operationalising Trust in AI: From Policy to Practice in the UAE The discussion examined key questions around reliability, transparency, accountability, human oversight, auditability, patient safety, clinical validation, AI literacy, privacy, data governance, and responsible implementation. Speakers and discussants reflected on how AI can support healthcare professionals while protecting patient dignity, professional responsibility, and public trust. This event marks the first episode of the Yathiqu AI Trust Series, a quarterly dialogue platform exploring how trust in AI can be built, governed, taught, measured, and sustained across high-impact sectors.
