I Kept Spinning This Acrylic Pour… Did I Go Too Far?
I Kept Spinning This Acrylic Pour… Did I Go Too Far? How do you know when to stop spinning an acrylic pour? That’s the question I wrestled with throughout this entire painting. In this video, I take a 10” × 20” gallery-wrapped canvas and begin with nothing more than a small puddle of layered acrylic paint. Using air, careful manipulation, and my spinner, I gradually expand the composition across the entire canvas. There were several moments when I thought the painting was finished… …but I kept spinning. Did I improve it? Or did I push it one step too far? Watch the entire process and decide for yourself! One of the things I love most about fluid art is that every painting is an experiment. No matter how carefully you plan your colors or composition, the paint always has a few surprises waiting for you. That’s what keeps me coming back to the studio—and hopefully keeps you coming back to watch. I’d love to hear what you think! 👉 At what point would YOU have stopped? Leave a comment below and let me know if I should have quit earlier or if continuing to spin was the right decision. ⸻ 🎨 Materials Used Colors Tri-Art Golden Yellow Pebeo Iridescent Gold Tri Art Golden Yellow Liquidtex Prussian Blue Hue Cell Activator Amsterdam Titanium White Amsterdam Bright Gold Pillow Paint PPG Multi-Pro Eggshell Canvas 10” × 20” Gallery Wrapped Canvas Equipment Custom Spinner Portable Multi-Speed Blower ⸻ 🎵 Music Music:Nothing Comes Close Musician:The Major Toms (from Audiio) ⸻ Inspired By This technique was inspired by the incredible work of Karen from Waterfall Acrylics.
