La moda convierte al cuerpo que la lleva en un discurso, en una historia. A través de ella se miden aspectos tan diversos como la clase social o la identidad de género. En los años veinte surgió la cultura pop y esta distinción entre lo sacro y lo profano que continuaría la estética punk. Hablo de Virginia Woolf y Djuna Barnes que en el ámbito de la literatura hacen tanto por trasgedir y desmontar los estereotipos de género como Madonna, Annie Lennox y Lady Gaga en la música.
