Bon Jovi | Live at Les Plaines d'Abraham | Festival d’été | Québec City 2012

One of a handful of shows Bon Jovi played in the summer of 2012 next to Bamboozle and a corporate gig in Atlanta almost no one knows about I think. And even though the band was known for being rather rusty after longer breaks in the era, the performances of I'll Be There For You, Someday I'lL Be Saturday Night and Bad Medicine are certainly ones worth revisiting from time to time! The energy and grunt in their performance was palpable! The original recording was quite dark, so I lifted some of the lower gamma regions heavily to make it easier to watch. The filmer cut off at the end of the main set, so the encore consists of pictures from the show and YT videos from that time. Three of them came from one upload but were definitely altered in terms of their frame rate since they never quite went into sync. A similar issue occured throughout the show since the giant backdrop screen was mainly filmed which had a slight delay to the actual happenings on the stage due to the image needing to be processed for such a big screen (we're talking in the regions of like 0.2 seconds here). So I delayed it marginally to fit the screen shots more. Some gaps inbetween during the encores were filled with pictures taken at the show. The entire show was dubbed with external audio source which was less brickwalled even though a number of recordings from that specific era (2011/12) had a way of "mastering" that escapes me to this day as the cymbals etc. are way too prominent and the mid-range feels like a deep water hole. Almost like someone just threw a HiFi preset onto the audio track and thought that'd be good. It had to be rebalanced a lot and the overall soundscape was harshly changed. Audio and video remastered!
