Franco Dani (born Francesco Budani, 8 August 1946, Rome) is an Italian singer and actor, well known both for his musical career and for his earlier fame as a leading figure in Italian fotoromanzi (photo‑novels). He first became popular in the 1970s as one of the main interpreters of the Lancio fotoromanzi series, which were extremely successful in Italy and abroad. Early Career: Fotoromanzi & Acting Rose to fame in the Lancio photo‑novels during the 1970s and early 1980s. Appeared in films such as: Ancora una volta… a Venezia (1975) Vento di primavera – Innamorarsi a Monopoli (2000) Also appeared in productions related to La Bibbia. Released his first single “Aspettami” in 1978 (Vedette Records), which became an immediate success. Followed by: “E ti svegli con me” (1979) “Amare è” (1980), written by Carla Vistarini & Luigi Lopez and arranged by Dario Baldan Bembo. In 1981, he won Un disco per l’estate with his signature song “Piccolo amore mio” by A. Musso. This remains one of his most beloved tracks. In 1982, he represented Italy at the Seoul International Festival in South Korea with the single “Dove vai”, gaining popularity overseas. 1980s Success Continued releasing hits such as: “Mi piaci” (1983) “Manchi solo tu” (1985). In 2015, he recorded “La voce mia”, a duet with soprano Dominika Zamara.
