Fixing mistakes in brioche knitting is actually fairly simple once you understand how the fabric is created. You can basically "ladder up" with a crochet hook - but you always need to pull the stitch through two extra yarn overs. That's the whole trick. For more complicated mistakes I always recommend tinking (knitting backwards) - especially if you missed an increase or decrease.
