Penn State Deputy Sheriff Basic Training Video

Ever wondered what a Pennsylvania deputy sheriff does to prepare for the job? Here is a 19-minute video highlighting Penn State Justice and Safety Institute's Deputy Sheriff Basic Training Academy. From first aid and crime scene investigation to firearms and defensive tactics, JASI's diverse group of instructors have trained thousands of deputies in partnership with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and its Deputy Sheriffs' Education and Training Board. Deputies can participate in a 19-week basic training program or a two-week waiver program for deputies with previous police training.
