Midway Runway Incursion | Includes ATC Audio

Official StreamTime Live video of the Chicago Midway near-miss, including ATC audio. A runway incursion at Chicago Midway Airport came very close to causing in a catastrophic incident. A small, fractional ownership jet crossed an active runway, despite being instructed to hold short of that runway. A quick reacting Southwest flight crew initiated a go-around within a second or so prior to touching its main gear on the runway and climbed to safety. Both tower and ground ATC communications have been added to this video. Note that the communications for ground and tower occur on separate frequencies and, in general, pilots and controllers would only be using one of the two frequencies at any one time. (The Southwest crew would not be hearing the ground communications with the Flexjet, and vice-versa.) ATC/Video Synchronization For the first portion of the video (through timestamp "08:48:30 CST", as visible on top) synchronization of the ATC audio and video is as precise as could be attained using manual methods. After that point, some of the ATC communications were moved to allow for deconflicting overlapping ground and tower communications, as well as improving the overall flow of the video.
