Guadamud: Triple National Record Erik Guadamud was crowned Spanish champion in the 94 kg category, thanks to a string of national records. In the snatch, he broke the Spanish absolute, junior, and U17 records, first with 153 kg and then with 159 kg. In the clean and jerk, he combined the U17 and junior records to reach 190 kg, lifts that allowed him to achieve an Olympic total of 349 kg, a new Spanish absolute, junior, and U17 record. This triple national record places the lifter among the best in the category despite still competing at a developmental age. The awards for the best performances of the championship highlighted the great moment the national team is experiencing. In the men's category, the award went to Marcos Ruiz, who was honored on Saturday with the Olympic Laurel, reaffirming his status as the leading figure in Spanish weightlifting, ahead of Erik Guadamud himself and Javier González. In the women's category, the award went to Garoa Martínez, Spanish champion in the 69 kg weight class, followed by María Olalla and Malen Monasterio, two of the stars of the first day, where both achieved the qualifying standards for the upcoming world and European championships. Along with Guadamud and Garoa Martínez, the final day crowned new Spanish champions such as José María Arriaga (71 kg) and Lucía Fandiño (77 kg), in a session that confirmed the depth of the national talent pool in the various weight categories.
