Waata Community in Kilifi call for recognition as a tribe in Kenya
A section of Kilifi County leaders is now calling for the recognition of the Waata community. The calls were exercebated during the burial of Waata community elder, 98-year-old Emmanuel Badiva Guyo Kiribai, at Kasikini village in Marafa ward. The leaders also urged the government to resolve a protracted land dispute among the community.
