Salmo 15 (16)| Guardai-me, ó Deus, porque em vós me refugio! #salmos #liturgiadiaria #salmo15 #salmo

Responsory Psalm 15(16),1-2a.4.5 and 8.11 (R. 1) - Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge! O Lord, you are my inheritance and my cup; my destiny is secure in your hands! I always have the Lord before my eyes; because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Refrain: Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge! (twice) I say to the Lord, "You alone are my Lord." Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge! Refrain: Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge! (twice) You show me the path to life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore! Refrain: Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge! (bis) However, those who run to foreign gods multiply their sorrows; I will not partake of their bloody sacrifices, nor will their names pass my lips. Chorus: Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge! (bis) Melody: Ronaldo Portella de Almeida Production Musical: Ronaldo Portella de Almeida Lyrics: King David Psalm 15 (or Psalm 16 in the Hebrew numbering used by Protestant Bibles) was written by King David. The traditional heading of the text identifies it as a personal composition ("Miktam of David") in which the psalmist expresses his trust and refuge in God. 1. The Title: "Miktam of David" The Hebrew term Miktam (מִכְתָּם) has two main academic interpretations: • Golden Inscription: A composition of inestimable value or engraved on monuments. • Poem of Atonement: Derived from an Akkadian root meaning "to cover," indicating a psalm of secret protection or prayer in times of veiled crisis. 2. Detailed Analysis of the Verses The Choice of Covenant (Verses 1–4) • The Refuge (v. 1): David uses the word Chasah, which means "to run to a shelter." It is not a plea to escape reality, but the conscious choice to place security in God. • The Rejection of Idolatry (v. 4): At the time, neighboring nations made libations (offerings of drinks) of blood to their gods (such as Baal and Molech). David states that he will not even pronounce the names of these deities. In the Semitic world, speaking the name of a god was the same as invoking his presence and authority. The Inheritance and Division of Land (Verses 5–6) • The Portion and the Cup (v. 5): David makes a metaphor with the division of the Promised Land among the tribes of Israel. The tribe of Levi (the priests) did not receive a piece of land, for God himself was their inheritance. Being the king, David declares that his sustenance and wealth do not come from the throne or the territory, but from the Lord. • The Lines Fell in Delightful Places (v. 6): The "lines" were the measuring cords used to demarcate properties. He expresses deep contentment with life and with the spiritual inheritance he has received. The Night Counsel and Stability (Verses 7–8) • The Breath of the Night (v. 7): The Hebrew text mentions that his "kidneys" instruct him at night. For the Hebrews, the kidneys (the bowels) were the seat of the deepest emotions and moral conscience. During moments of insomnia or nocturnal solitude, David underwent a process of self-examination under divine instruction. • At My Right Hand (v. 8): In the ancient military context, the soldier positioned to someone's right held the shield to protect the unarmed side of his companion. To say that God is at your right hand means that He is your personal guardian in combat. The Triumph over Sheol (Verses 9–11) • The Body in Safety (v. 9): The word for "body" here refers to the physical flesh (Basar). David feels total peace, both in mind and body. • Sheol and Corruption (v. 10): Sheol was the realm of the dead in the ancient Hebrew mindset. The word translated as "corruption" (Shachat) means the grave, the decomposition or destruction of the body. David expresses the conviction that God would not abandon him to the oblivion of death. • The Path of Life (v. 11): The psalm ends not in a tomb, but on a path of ascent to the presence of God, where there is "fullness of joy" and "delights forevermore." #Viral, #YouTubeViral, #Trending, #TrendingVideo, #CatholicVideo, #Faith, #Inspiration, #CorpusChristiSunday, #TheBodyAndBloodOfChrist, #SolemnityOfCorpusChristi, #CatholicChurch, #CatholicMass, #CatholicHymn, #TraditionalCatholic, #ChristianMusic #WorshipMusic,#psalm, #jesus,#jesuschrist,#jesuslovesyou,#jesussaves,#jesus,#psalms,#dailyliturgy,#gospel,#bible,#god,#mass,#wordofgod,#love,#gospelmusic,#PsalmOfTheDay,#DailyLiturgy,#HolyBible,#WordOfGod,#PraiseAndWorship,#Church Catholic, #Gospel, #Catholic, #Faith, #Prayer, #Jesus, #LiturgicalMusic, #LiturgicalSinging, #CatholicMusic, #Prayer, #Catholic, #JesusChrist, #CorpusChrist, #PriscilaOcana, #PsalmsAndCatholicLiturgy, #Viral, #YouTubeViral, #Trending, #Trending, #CatholicVideo, #Faith, #Inspiration, #Psalm, #Psalm
