Erika Toda (who plays Kazuko Hosoki), star of the Netflix series "You're Going to Hell," and director Tomoyuki Takimoto appeared at the Netflix lineup introduction event, "Next on Netflix 2026." The Netflix series "You're Going to Hell" depicts the life of Kazuko Hosoki, a fortune teller who became famous for her powerful phrases, such as "The Great Killing Year" and "You're Going to Hell!" After the screening, the wall rotated, and Toda appeared cross-legged in a chair. "I've never had such an embarrassing entrance before (laughs). I really couldn't decide whether to appear as Kazuko or Erika Toda, and it's so hot," she said, looking embarrassed as she raised her face in her hands. Toda, who portrayed the life of Hosoki Kazuko spanning approximately 50 years, reflected, "I thought the only way I could portray one person's life like this was in the worldview of a morning drama or a historical drama, so when I was given this opportunity, I felt like I was living that life again. I really felt like I was 'alive.'" She continued, "There were times when tears came to my eyes in places the script said I wasn't supposed to, and when I felt really happy. There were moments when I felt like I didn't know where I was, and whether I was playing Hosoki Kazuko or whether I was crying myself. It was an incredibly luxurious time, and I felt like I was living a happy life."
