Calling Education | Werner Cloete
Filmed at the 1st 21x21 Showcase Event on 7 November 2019 at University of Stellenbosch, Bellville Campus, Cape Town, South Africa. Is it possible to make a truly excellent education available at a fee affordable to those from low income communities? How does a school with an authentically Christian ethos position itself in modern society in terms of personal mentoring and cutting-edge educational initiatives? In what ways can the inspiration so desperately needed in the South African education landscape be provided? These questions led to Calling Education being established. Dr Philip Geldenhuys, Co-founder and former CEO of Community Keepers, saw the need for a high school in Stellenbosch that can address these issues. After regular prayer with friends about the possibilities, Philip approached Werner Cloete (who was teaching Physical Science at Paul Roos Gymnasium) and Willem Meyer (Founder of Campitor Agribusiness Investments) to help conceptualise this new school. On 17 January 2018, Calling Academy opened its doors for 60 Grade 8 boys from 13 different primary schools. The fact that the school was at capacity from the beginning indicates that the school serves the right need with the right model. On 9 January 2019, the 2018 class of 60 Grade 8 boys moved to Grade 9. Calling Academy enrolled another 60 Grade 8 boys at the start of 2019, totalling 120 boys currently enrolled at Calling Academy. Calling Education inspires, equips and grows leaders, future fathers and teachers through innovative low fee schools. https://callingeducation.org.za/ 21x21 Online TV: Thank you very much for watching this showcase: We trust you were inspired by what you heard. We ask that you take three action steps: 1. Boost a Beneficiary by "liking" this video and forward this YouTube link far and wide. 2. Introduce us to Cheerful Donors and Proven Beneficiaries that we can consider for future events and come and support them at our Gala Event where the top 9 winners will present again for the first prize. 3. If God moves your heart to be generous, listen and obey. If you are not sure, arrange a personal meeting. Maybe your contribution can be the perfect match for the exact need of these beneficiaries. Whether it be to: volunteer your time, act as a mentor or make a monetary donation. Your decision is a direct matter between you and God because it is written: " Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7
