Gerry Anderson's UFO was the first big budget British live-action television series of a secret government organisation named SHADO (Supreme Headqauters Alien Defence Organisation) combat a dying alien race who have come to Earth in order to survive. The series starred Ed Bishop, George Sewell, Micheal Billington and Wanda Ventham across twenty six action packed episodes, UFO was Anderson's first live-action series created for ITC Entertainment, following the immense success of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. UFO is fondly remembered as one of Anderson's finest productions, thanks to its fast paced, intelligent storylines, spectacular visual effects provided by Derek Meddings, phenomenal score by Barry Gray and strong leads.
