The College Admissions Process at West Point

In 2009, Forbes Magazine ranked the United States Military Academy at West Point as Americas Top College, based on graduation rates, number of national and global awards to students and faculty, student satisfaction, average debt upon graduation, and postgraduate success. On February 25, 2010, StudyPoint sat down with West Points Director of Admissions, Col. Deborah McDonald, who helped us to demystify the college admissions process in a 3-part video series. In part one of our West Point Video Series, Col. McDonald talks about applying to college, and how West Points college admissions process differs from that of other major colleges and universities. She offers practical tips for students and parents including advice on when to take AP classes, how to gather letters of recommendation, and when to go on college visits.
