This is a review of my stay in a suite on the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ferry Sanflower Sapporo, which departs Oarai Port (Ibaraki Prefecture) at 7:45pm and arrives at Tomakomai Port (Hokkaido) at 1:30pm the following day. A room with more than enough space and facilities, with three meals included. 18 hours in a top-class room on a long-distance ferry that is designed to make you feel like you can just relax. I was able to take a complete break from the journey. Clear skies and calm seas. I just stared at the horizon and relaxed. And before I knew it, I had arrived in Hokkaido. Planes are nice, but traveling on a long-distance ferry while just relaxing is a wonderful experience that nothing can replace.
