How to Fix a Girthy Horse
In this video, I'm sharing my tips on handling girthy horses, using my horse Rumba as an example. It's important not to jump straight into training when dealing with girthy behavior. Instead, first, ensure your horse is comfortable. Check that the saddle fits properly, the saddle pad isn’t causing irritation, and the girth isn’t uncomfortable. Watch as I demonstrate gently tightening the girth one hole at a time while using food rewards to encourage a positive association.
