In this episode, Kerry and Brad Wilcox explore the beginning of the Exodus story. They especially examine the incredible story of the midwives and Moses' mother and sister, and how these accounts teach about women, God's deliverance, creation imagery, and the name of Moses. They also examine the significance of God remembering His covenant with Israel. Next, Kerry introduces Moses as the text presents him, and helps us reflect on some surprising stories about Moses at the beginning of the narrative. Then, Kerry and Andrew Skinner explore various elements of the early Exodus story. They especially investigate the meaning of the name “I AM WHO I AM” and what it teaches about Christ. They also discuss some symbols present in the story, focusing on what we can learn about Christ by studying Moses. Following this, Paul Hoskisson joins Kerry to analyze the meaning of the verse that addresses whether Jehovah was known by His name before Moses.
