Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that "Iran is facing and experiencing very difficult and complex economic and social conditions" due to the current situation and the suffocating naval blockade. President Pezeshkian called for strengthening "internal harmony" and national dialogue, acknowledging the existence of immense and systematic external pressures deliberately aimed at igniting "internal conflict" and destabilizing society in Tehran and other Iranian cities. In the same vein, but in a completely different tone reflecting the divergent centers of power, Iranian Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued statements emphasizing the need for the Doha draft agreement to take into account what he described as "the strategic victories achieved by Iran on the ground," specifically establishing maritime control in the Strait of Hormuz and demonstrating its geopolitical role on the Asian stage. Ghalibaf reiterated his hardline rhetoric, declaring "absolute distrust of the American side and the promises of the Trump administration." Between President Pezeshkian's admissions of internal exhaustion and Qalibaf's stubborn adherence to military tactics, the exchange of messages and heated negotiations continues between Tehran and Washington via direct Doha channels.
