As early as early March 2022, proposals were made to establish protected areas in the Carpathians, just as the Germans did during World War II. Israeli companies themselves approached them with proposals to build underground factories that no one else could reach, and were willing to borrow money for the project. The argument "it's billions of hryvnias" is no longer valid in the fifth year of the war: now hundreds of millions will go toward compensation for burned-out housing—for now, people have been promised 40,000—and the restoration of destroyed infrastructure. The most difficult part of the conversation is the real cost of the attack. Romanenko tells a story from the first person: on the day of the explosion, a friend's father was dying, and an ambulance crew from Vyshneve arrived by chance. Reeking of smoke and blackened by soot, the paramedics told him bluntly: there were supposedly so many dead that there weren't enough crews to transport them. The official figure is six. Why lie, the host asks, if five streets and hectares of buildings burned to the ground? Imagine such an explosion near Kyiv's high-rise buildings, and the scale of the potential catastrophe becomes clear. Cherny adds detail to the overall picture of organizational irresponsibility. The explosion near Zhitomir, which destroyed everything within a kilometer, wasn't a drone strike, but a sabotage operation: Russians hired underage perpetrators, and they blew themselves up along with the target. Lukyanivka in Kyiv is being bombed with a persistence that suggests there's a target there. And after each strike—Dmitrievka, Pavlohrad, Vyshneve, Zhitomir—nothing changes except the deployment. The finale concerns the training grounds. Once everyone got excited after the high-profile strikes, Syrsky announced the transfer of training underground. In fact, the instructor quips, they "buried" two classrooms—and that was the end of the reform. More deception. Cherny admits he's afraid to speak out loud now: if you say anything, he'll land somewhere in two days, and it will turn out you were the one who suggested it. But that doesn't change the essence: nothing happened, nothing was moved underground.
