We visit a vintage arcade shop where classic pinball machines and Super Mario games bring back the childhood joy of simpler days. Walking through Taishakuten Sando, the main shopping street, we try local delicacies from family-run stores that have been here for decades. We also visit the historic Taishakuten Temple, a peaceful sanctuary known for its beautiful wooden carvings, and end the day at Yamamoto Tei—a merchant’s historic mansion where we enjoyed iced matcha and wagashi while sitting on tatami rooms, with a view of a stunning Japanese garden.
