Living Well #1 - Oat Burgers with Jeanne Wheaton, MS, RDN - S1E1
Oat Burgers 3 c water ¼ c Bragg’s Liquid Aminos (or soy sauce) 1 t Italian Seasoning 1 T onion powder 3 T nutritional yeast flakes 1 medium onion, well chopped ½ c walnuts, chopped 2 T olive oil (optional) 3 c quick oats Heat water and seasonings on stove until almost boiling. Add onion, walnuts, olive oil and oats and remove from heat. Mix well. Cool until able to form into patties. Place patties on sprayed cookie sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes at 375. Turn and bake another 15 minutes or until well browned. May also cook on stove top until both sides well browned. Serve on a whole wheat bun with favorite toppings. Ketchup 1 c tomato sauce ¼ c tomato paste 2 T fresh lemon juice 1 T honey ½ t each basil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt Mix all ingredients together and chill. Keep refrigerated in airtight container.
