According to Fantastic Universe’s blurb on this story, he was a “veteran writer, TV and Radio editor, former roving newspaperman and father”; according to info I have found elsewhere, Samuel “Sam” Carson was a very prolific author. He published two hundred and forty (!) short stories across several genres such as Mainstream, War, Western, Sports, and that in a great many publications. Just nine of these are counted as Science Fiction. His first story saw print in 1922 and the last few in the mid 1950s, and one lonely straggler in 1971.
