This is southern Ibaraki Prefecture, a commuter town near Tokyo. My husband and I are both in our 70s, and we've been living in my parents' old house for the past three years. I will tell you the story of the end and new beginning of a gentle tale that unfolded in an ordinary rural life. Also, there are handmade bird nests made from twigs and healthy ganmodoki (fried tofu patties) made from tofu. And above all, there are the beautiful rainy gardens and the fantastical, misty landscapes. I hope to bring kindness and tranquility to all of you.
