From Dirty Wells to Clean Water (Ameke Ibeku Community)

For years in Ameke Ibeku Community, Abia State, these young girls and the entire village fetched unsafe water from wells, exposing them to cholera and other deadly diseases. Today, through the partnership of the GRUNDFOS FOUNDATION and RECTOR CARES FOUNDATION, the story has changed. These girls can now access clean water from a solar-powered borehole and learn in a newly transformed classroom. In Nigeria, over 60 million people still lack clean water, and thousands die each year from preventable waterborne diseases. These are deaths that should never happen.
