PROTAGONISTAS: Alberto García Espina, director de la Banda de Música de Barakaldo

In an interview for TELE7's PROTAGONISTAS program, the director of the Barakaldo Municipal Band looks back on his long career, which began when he started singing in the church choir. His passion for early music took him to the Netherlands, where he completed the musical training he had begun as a child at the Barakaldo Conservatory, first with the txistu (a Basque flute), and then with the clarinet. Since taking the baton 16 years ago, García Espina has sought to open the band to artists from other musical disciplines, always striving to "surprise" and contribute to the "pride" that the people of Barakaldo feel for this institution with over 125 years of history.
