Portrait photography lighting: How to use ND filter on portrait photography

Portrait photography how to: Using ND filter. Do you feel your strobe light is lack or power when photographing portrait at an outdoor location? Have you having issue with High speed sync? Is your camera's sync speed is too slow? Is your camera's base ISO not low enough? Don't spend thousands of dollars investing new lighting gear or higher end camera. A $100 ND filter might fix all these issues. When your strobe light or flash working under High Speed Sync Mode, your light's output gets cut down a lot. I'm not talking 1or 2 stops. I'm talking 6-7 stops! The faster your shutter speed, the worse the situation. Do a test your self. Point your light at something with full power and take a shot with 1/200s. Do the same with 1/2000s. If shutter speed only affect the light or ambient. The lighting on your subject should be the same because your light output is same right? It's not! The reason is because you are shooting HSS. Yes, ND filter will cut down your light too but the benefit gain of not using HSS is way more than this lost. I can using my 250ws profoto B2 to compete with the sun and I barely shoot over 1/2 power. You can do the same!
