Saab 9-5 engine rebuild - blow by

A little video of fixing a bad saab 9-5 engine. *Not a how to video*The car had blow by and with a few tests we determined that we needed to strip the engine, think the piston or rings are cracked/broke. We pull out the pistons and the one cylinder that had leak when we did a cylinder leak down test was cracked and valves were covered in carbon, Put new rings and bearings and new used piston in and the car is fixed. To prevent such issues run premium fuel and genuine plugs and saab only dic(caset). This will prevent any major issues. I have seen many cars with burnt valves due to people buying aftermarket cheap dic(casets) Shop has had other cars with cracked pistons and even a fire once. Moral of the story take care of your car! Customer had one piston replaced at some point later down the road another piston needed to be replaced and that’s this video, not a common thing on 9-5. Mostly see people overheat and blow head gaskets or burnt valves on these engines. Don’t go the cheapest route when buying parts for your car.
