„Die Transplantationsmedizin ist ein Irrweg" | Renate Greinert im Gespräch

Renate Greinert is the board member of the association "KAO - Critical Information about Organ Transplantation KAO e.V." (KAO). Since the tragic loss of her son, whom she had released for explantation without knowing the background, she has been committed to uncovering the often-hidden dark side of transplant medicine. She is also the author of several books on the subject, including "Dying Unharmed - Conflict Case Organ Donation: A Mother's Fight." In this interview, Renate Greinert shares her story and describes in detail her perspective on transplant medicine. Information: https://initiative-kao.de Table of Contents: 00:15 What prompted you to take a more critical look at the topic of organ transplantation? 03:50 So, the conversation took place at a time when you still had hope that your son would recover? 06:44 When did the operation take place? How were you informed about it? 12:16 Did the brain death argument convince you? 14:55 Did you have any kind of contact with your son after his death? 19:29 In your opinion, what are the biggest gray areas and the biggest communication deficits in transplant medicine? 22:40 What did you experience as an expert witness at the hearing on the Transplantation Act before the Health Committee of the German Bundestag? 23:26 How differentiated is the diagnosis of brain death made today? 25:22 During your contacts with patients, relatives, and medical professionals, were there any events or descriptions that particularly moved you and motivated you to continue to critically examine the topic? 30:37 What things did medical professionals tell you behind the scenes? 31:23 Have you ever had the opportunity to speak with surgeons who perform transplants? 31:37 One could imagine that an explantation might also be very emotionally stressful for a surgeon. 32:44 What do you say to the argument: Brain death may not be certain death, but what is certain is that the person cannot be brought back to life. So, explantation is appropriate for the benefit of other patients. 35:25 Have you met other people who, like you, have since deeply regretted their consent to explantation? 38:19 Have you also been interested in the other side? How are organ recipients doing? How do they cope with it? 39:24 Do you think the picture of the healthy and happy organ recipient is painted a bit too rosy? 42:34 What is it all about? Dying with dignity? 44:09 So, the dying process is one of the most important processes of all, and one that should not be compromised? 45:27 Can you imagine that people whose dying process is compromised or disrupted by organ donation actually still have to experience pain to a certain degree? 46:27 What would be your ideal: the best possible education about organ transplantation, the elimination of gray areas, or no transplants at all?
