Organisation Todt: Bunker des Atlantikwalls in Calais und Dünkirchen

The video takes the viewer to the northern French coast, to the greater Dunkirk and Calais area on the English Channel, opposite Great Britain. In May 1940, the German Wehrmacht overran Belgium, the Netherlands, and France, advancing as far as the English Channel. At the end of May 1940, the legendary evacuation of over 330,000 British and French soldiers took place there – Operation Dynamo. Matthias Walker, chauffeur and owner of Walcker Limousine Service (http://walcker-limousine-service.de/), explains the conquests during the "Blitzkrieg," the composition of the Atlantic Wall with its various standard structures (bunkers), the significance of the Todt Organization, and the Todt Battery southwest of Calais. He discusses the strategic importance of Calais and a German bunker in its city center. Finally, we visit La Coupole, an impressive bunker complex that was intended as a storage facility and launching pad for the V2 rocket. Here are the chapters of the documentary: 0:38 Western Campaign / Blitzkrieg 1:55 Atlantic Wall, Bunkers, Standard Structures 5:15 Todt Organization and Todt Battery 8:03 Calais 9:12 La Coupole, V2 Bunkers Making of: These images were taken rather unplanned during a vacation in northern France in March 2025 with the DJI OSMO Pocket 3 vlogging camera. I had taken the camera along as a precaution, because you never know, and the OSMO Pocket 3 is small, handy, but powerful. My wife had set the destination: somewhere by the sea. Lithuania was too far by car, and the Belgian North Sea coast is full of high-rise buildings with unacceptable overnight prices. The French coast in the Calais and Dunkirk area, on the other hand, is affordable, has a very good beach, and is ideal for hiking. The food is varied and good. It is not overrun with tourists. And there are bunkers everywhere: on the beach, in the field, under the restaurant, in the cliff, in the front garden. The museums shown in the video are extremely interesting and lovingly decorated. In some cases, we spent four hours in the museum instead of the planned two. With our speaker, Matthias Walcker, we shot various videos about Berlin during COVID: https://www.youtube.com/@BTBconcept/s...
